We play a game called “find someone who” and at the same time we practise making questions and using words connected with travelling and transportation, as for example: drive a car/bus/lorry, catch a bus/train/ferry, ride a horse/bike/motorbike, fly (in) a plane/ helicopter, sail (on) a boat/ship.

Work placement

During weeks 6, 7 and 8 you are not going to attend any lessons, instead you are going experience your future profession. Every Friday, during your workplacement period you will have to leave a comment in which you write your thoughts/refelections about what you have been doing at work (write at least 40 words)

When you are back in school you are going to write a workplacement report. Before you go through the instructions we are going to read a report written by a student.

Work placement report
Aim

To write a short essay about your work placement period by also using correct language in order to present your story according to the instructions below.

Syfte
Du ska skriva en berättelse om din praktikperiod genom att använda dig av mallen nedan.

Instructions

1-Firstly, give a short introduction of where you had your placement and how long your placement lasted ( write at least 50 words) (Inled din berättelse med en kort introduktion där du berätta om var du gjorde din praktik period och hur länge den var)

2-Secondly, consider deeply what you want to bring up and discuss. Choose three topics below (write at least 100 words) (Fundera över vad du vill berätta om. Välj tre ämne eller område som du diskuterar eller berätta i din uppsats)

-Working conditions (working hours, shifts, breaks for the staff,

3-Finally I want to you to summarize the introduction and the three topics in a conclusion. (Slutligen, sammanfatta introduktionen och de tre område du valde att diskutera. Din sammanfattning är avslutning i din uppsats)

Film review

After watching the film The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, we are going to write review. A film review is normally composed of the elements listed below. When writing your review, include 4 of the following elements:

-Basic facts: name of the film, director, genre( action, comedy, drama, horror, romance, science fiction, suspense, thriller, etc), length of the film, rating (suiltable for children)

-The plot: what is the film about? Is it a good/interesting/exciting story? Is it an original script or a script based on a novel/play? Are there any key scenes? How does the story begin?

-The setting: where and when does the story take place?

-The characters (the people in the story) Who is it all about? Describe them (appearance, behaviour) Who is the main character?

-The actors: How well have the actors managed to portray their characters? Are their performances credible or the opposite? Does any actor overdo his/her role?

-Direction and message: Has the director succeeded in telling his/her story, making the most of the film, bringing out the best of the actors? Does the director want to say something with the film?

-Conclusion: what’s your personal opinion and why? What impression did the film make on you? Is there anything in particular you like/disliked? Give a rating (1-5 stars or whatever)

Write at least 200 words. Write your review by hand. You can use your computer if you need to look a word that you don’t know or if you need you need to search for information about the book. Use your own words, don’t copy and paste. If you happen to find a phrase or a sentece that you find interesting, rephrase it, write it in another way, make it your own.

Hand in your review by the end of the lesson.
